Steven is originally from Columbia, SC., and has a Bachelor’s in Biblical Studies, a Master's of Theological Studies, and a Doctorate in Theology (Th.D.).  Steven has degrees from Columbia Bible College, Columbia International University Seminary, and Andersonville Seminary.  He has also taken courses from the Moody Bible Institute, Dallas Theological Seminary, and Chafer Theological Seminary.  

 

Pastor Steven provides verse-by-verse Bible teaching, believing that God’s Word is truth and the sole means of sanctification for the believer (John 17:17). He believes that having a thorough knowledge of God’s Word will result in the believer being equipped to do the work of ministry (Eph. 4:11-12), as well as have a daily walk that is worthy of the Lord (Eph. 4:1). 
 

Steven has served at First Baptist Columbia, as well as Senior Pastor of Bethune Baptist Church and New Hope Baptist Church.  Steven and his wife, Merritt, have one son, Samuel.  Steven enjoys reading, sports, and time with family.
