We all experience many low points in life. Perhaps it is the loss of a job, a serious illness, or any number of other things. The prophet Jeremiah speaks of hope amidst the dark situation in which he found himself. What we discover is that the hope he turns to comes from a source outside himself.

While Paul often describes praying for others, he was not above requesting his own prayer needs. This reflects a variety of things, such as humility and dependence on the Lord. What exactly did Paul ask for prayer for? In his second letter to the Thessalonians, we discover two specific prayer requests.

Christians are exhorted throughout the New Testament to eagerly await the Lord’s return. While we do not know exactly when He will return, it is certain that one day He will. Writing from Roman imprisonment, Paul exhorts the Philippians to eagerly await the return of their Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ.
